Beschreibung

Arch Linux is one of the major established non-commercial Linux distributions with a focus on user-centrism and offering a modern Linux environment. This effort will support modernizing the Arch Linux Package Management (ALPM) subsystem which is the most central and security-critical infrastructure component of this distribution. Arch Linux serves a large and diverse user base consisting of individuals, but also larger companies are increasingly attracted by its principles (simplicity, modernity, pragmatism, user centrality and versatility). ALPM based packages are used by all users of Arch Linux and its many derivative distributions such as Manjaro and SteamOS (used on Valve’s SteamDeck) as a central way of installing software on their systems. The integrity of the package management subsystem is critical for the security of thousands of individual and corporate users world-wide. Arch Linux follows an uncompromising approach, that empowers its users to participate in modern digital life and society while being in full control of their system, notably including its privacy properties.
