Beschreibung

The objective of this Agreement is for the development and delivery of a production-ready, open-source regional AI forecasting capability for Destination Earth, designed to provide kilometre-scale, probabilistic and hourly forecasts over configurable European domains for at least five days ahead. The service will support the prediction of high-impact weather events and environmental extremes by combining advanced machine-learning methods, high-resolution regional datasets, ensemble forecasting, and additional Earth system components such as land-surface and ocean-wave processes. Implemented within the Anemoi framework and integrated with the DestinE Digital Twin Engine and Forecast-in-a-Box workflows, the capability will be engineered, validated and deployed to TRL 8 or higher on EuroHPC and AI Factory infrastructures, complementing the physics-based regional Extremes Digital Twin and strengthening Europe’s operational forecasting capacity.
